Founded by Morris Shapiro and Joseph Menke, La Jac was manufactured by Keystone Laboratories in Memphis, Tennessee. At the time of its creation, United States segregation laws prevented La Jac products from being sold in stores. They were distributed by brand representatives through social networks. Keystone Laboratory is still a functioning company; however, its line of La Jac products is no longer for sale. The products in production are now available for sale in stores and online.
