Founded by Barbara Hulanicki and Stephen Fitz-Simon, Biba began as a fashion house and did not sell cosmetics until 1969 when it went public, now on the market as Biba Ltd. Biba went through may iterations after its founders left the company due, in pat, to frictions with majority stakeholder, British Land, in 1974. Starting in 1977, for 30 years, people attempt to re-launch the brand; none are successful.
