Founded in 1978 by Gianni Versace as a luxury fashion brand, Versace released its first perfume in 1981. Following death of Gianni Versace in 1997, the company was run by his family. Versace sold to Michale Kors Group in 2018, but still maintains the brand legacy with Donatella Versace as it creative director.
