In 1933, Marjorie A. Birk patented strip eyelashes. Her design attached the eyelashes individually to a strip of material rather than have a large application band. This innovation was applied to the New York manufactured, Ey-Teb eyelash models. Further innovation in false eyelashes included trimming the bands to fit the user’s eye shape, making this model of eyelashes blend more seamlessly with the natural lash-line. Ey-Teb was a leading brand of false eyelashes until the 1970s.
