Schneider was founded by Karl Unger and Carl Schneider in Germany. Relying on Unger’s background as an aritst, they produced unique table sets instead of copying other popular designs of the 1850s. Because of this, Schneider won an award at the Santiago World’s Fair. Schneider began international export and expanded beyond table sets. Now their products contain a “G” with a crown for anything produced before 1950. The company dissoled in 1970s due to decreased demand of reissued molds.
