Salo David Rand established Pygmalion in London, England with a cosmetic packaging patent. Pygmalion became well known for souvenir compacts including a famous, globe-shaped compact. The company functioned by importing their products and marketing them; however, Pygmalion was not the manufacturer. Because of this, Pygmalion went out of business.
