Cheramy operated as a subsidiary of Houbigant in New York City. Houbigant released a perfume at a lower price point ideally for women who had to work during World War I. Cheramy expanded into cosmetics, again, at a lower price point. With the second World War, there was interruption to their international sales and the brand suffered. In the 1980s the Cheramy brand was discontinued.
