Richard Hudnut began his business producing perfumes and travel boxes. Hudnut purchased stores and began producing compacts, lipsticks, creams and more. Du Barry, Marvelous and Gemey lines were released within the Richard Hudnut brand. Production continued until its sale to L’Oreal.
