James Leslie Younghusband, a creator of several makeup brands, started Chen Yu as a chip-proof nail polish. Chen Yu evolved through new ownership and developed lipsticks and brushes. The rights to Chen Yu continued to change hands, ending up in its current ownership where the products are still made.
